In order to secure your booking, we will require you to complete and sign the Town Hall Booking Form, sign the Town Hall Terms and Conditions and sign the Fire and Emergency Procedures.
Upon receipt of these documents, you will be emailed a deposit invoice which upon payment of the invoice will confirm your booking.

The Venue
Downham Market’s striking Town Hall was constructed as a memento of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. In 2008 the building was put into the care of the Town Council and so it remains today.
The Town Hall is a place for the people of the town and area to meet, and to arrange and attend a wide variety of functions and events. Every week local groups, business organisations and individuals hire rooms in the Town Hall, and take advantage of it’s location in the centre of town.
Please note that there is no parking directly outside the
Town Hall on market days. Please ask the office for details of alternative parking opportunities.
There are three main rooms in the Town Hall all available for hire at very reasonable rates for all sorts of events - wedding ceremonies and receptions, theatrical performances, public meetings, book and craft markets, art exhibitions, quizzes and dinner/dances to name a few.
The Grand Hall provides an ideal blank canvass for your party or wedding reception vision. The drapes, which can be provided free of charge, transform the hall into a beautiful space (pictured with lighting by JR Light and Sound, and rustic bar from Best@Bars).
The Hall has an adjacent kitchen area and stage, use of which is included in the hire fee. The stage offers the basic stage lighting and there are also facilities for large screen cinema/conference presentations. Tiered seating is available with a seating capacity of approx 150 people. A wide variety of seating arrangements can be accommodated to suit whatever type of event is planned with a maximum standing capacity of 250 people.
The Clock Room has a door opening onto the Town Square and is regularly hired for coffee mornings, smaller meetings and discussion groups. The maximum seating capacity here is 70 people. A bar space is available for serving hot or cold drinks and light snacks.
The Assembly Room is located on the first floor and benefits from beautiful duel-aspect windows overlooking the Town Square and our iconic Clock. This room is also suitable for small conferences or meetings and has regularly been used for yoga sessions. The maximum seating capacity here is 70 people. Please note there are no kitchen facilities available.
